HOME is a centre for international contemporary art, theatre and film in Manchester that opened its doors on 24 April 2015 as part of the First Street development. HOME was formed by the merger of two Manchester-based arts organisations, Cornerhouse and the Library Theatre Company.
Boasting two performance venues, the building is home to 500-seat theatre and a 150-seat flexible studio space – it also includes five cinema screens, gallery space to display, contemporary art and a restaurant.
Before Rotec could begin any work in the venues, it was first challenged with preserving the buildings sensitive acoustic rating by ensuring that all installations were compliant with sound regulations. After specifications were met, steel doors were installed for both the fire escapes and back of the theatres, along with roller shutters for the service area.
As everyone at Rotec strives unitedly as a team in attaining the vision to be the most trusted partner in the door industry, it was overwhelming when HOME stated that they were happy to recommend Rotec and would continue to use its services in the future.
“Having used Rotec on a number of Wates Construction projects, I will continue to use them on future projects due to their professionalism and knowledge of the works they provide. To date, they have been accommodating, helpful, very proactive and eager to work with the site teams to achieve successful completion of their works. From a commercial perspective, there are very few issues from Rotec and they are very quick to identify any potential issues which can then be rectified in a timely manner.”
