Online retailer Amazon currently occupies a space of 817,260 square feet at Airport City Manchester as part of a £800m development of the site. The opening of this new warehouse, developed by MAG Property, has provided 1,500 jobs for the area.
Working closely with contractors McLaren, Rotec were tasked with the installation of standard security systems for industrial units. Some of these orders included steel hinge door sets for staff entrances, fire escape doors and stairwell doors – all of which were doubled after Amazon requested multiple design changes.
Under short notice and time constraints, Rotec adapted to new timescales by doubling engineer resources in order to meet timescales and maintain excellent workmanship. With teamwork and passion being at the core of Rotec’s fundamental values, this project was completed in 2-3 weeks in order to assist McLaren and meet Amazon’s expectations.
“Rotec Security approached this challenging project with a positive and professional attitude. The sectional milestones were achieved within programme and client request for acceleration was also met. The Rotec managerial team were accommodating throughout the job.” – Reference from Stuart Goss – McLaren Project Director
